Glossary

Cam: It is the main part of the rotoblock. Its rotation generates the intermittent or oscillating movement of the turret.

Turret:  The assembly formed by the table and the rollers. It is the part of the rotoblock receiving the motion from the cam.

Roller: Roller bearing mounted radially on the plate and in contact with the cam.

Turret radius: tween the axis of the turret and the center of the rollers.

Number of stops: Number of stops performed by the turret for every full revolution.

Index period: This indicates the angle of the cam (in degrees) generating the movement of the turret.

Dwell period: This indicates the angle of the cam (in degrees) keeping the turret in the position of stop.

Oscillation period: In oscillating rotoblocks it indicates the rotation angle of the turret.

Lindexing rule: This is the mathematical function that determines the profile of the cam within the angle of movement and defines the dynamic range of the movement of the turret.
